The 3D Cube quilt is an interesting variation of the
tumbling block pattern. The cube effect is caused by the
positioning of the light, medium, and dark fabrics. The
best results are achieved when there is a strong
light/medium/dark contrast.
Either fat quarters or 2 ½” strips can be used, but there
will be more unusable left-over half-hexis with the strips.

8 light FQs (OR 1/4 yd of each light, cut into three 2 ½” x WOF strips)
8 medium FQs (OR 1/4 yd of each med, cut into three 2 ½” x WOF strips)
8 dark FQs (OR 1/4 yd of each dark, cut into three 2 ½” x WOF strips)
Black 1 1/3 yds (46” – 10” to float, 18” border, 18” binding)
